Primer for Yoga Teachers
Friday, October 22, 6:00-8:30 p.m.

So want you to be a teacher? This session is for instructors who are beginning their journey and for seasoned teachers who want to bring their focus back to basics. We will explore the ethics behind yoga teaching which consist of practice, study, and application of this noblest of arts. How to sequence a class, do adjustments, guide a deep relaxation, and instruct pranayama and
meditation will be covered. Members of the workshop will be called upon to teach in front of the group and received feedback on their ability to demonstrate, instruct, observe, and correct.

Yoga Basics: Alignment as Enlightenment
Saturday, October 23, 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

Alignment is a kind of enlightenment and today you’ll find out why. Proper alignment and the body mechanics that accompany it insure correct, safe, and elegant movement. By definition, yoga postures feel good and reflect an art form of symmetry and freedom. Illumination of the mind, through discrimination and self balancing is one goal of Hatha Yoga, which uses perfection through alignment in the postures to bring this about.

Restful Yoga for Stressful Times
Saturday, October 23, 3:00-5:30 p.m.

The range of restorative poses in yoga is enormous. Whether attending to the outer layer of skin, muscles, and bone, the inner level of nervous system and soft tissue, or the subtlest level of the content of consciousness, yoga uses different modalities to address the chronic concerns that every practitioner faces during their lifetime. Using recuperative poses, breath awareness, and guided
deep relaxation, today you will experience relief from stress and strain, which is the hallmark of yoga’s effectiveness.

Back Care Basics: Living With Your Low Back
Sunday, October 24, 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Back pain sufferers take heart! Come and find relief and discover
new options for your home practice. Whether you have general
backache, stiffness, or soreness in your upper spine, scoliosis, SI
joint dysfunction, or sciatica, this workshop will teach you how to
relax and traction the spine. Once the spine elongates and decompresses, ease of motion is restored, as is free and easy breathing. You’ll go home knowing how to set up simple poses that alleviate discomfort and get a new lease on life. Learn the difference between healing and curing and leave here with the best sense of
body mechanics and proper posture that you have ever had.
