Medical Director Rudy Kachmann, M.D.
Dr. Rudy Kachmann is a neurosurgeon who has practiced medicine for nearly four decades. A long-time resident of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, he remains an active member in the community. Dr. Kachmann is on the Board of Directors of Day Break Children’s Shelter, a donor for the Boys & Girls Club, the Founder of the Kachmann Behavioral Foundation and co-founder of the Kachmann Mind Body Institute, and a member of the Tennis Hall of Fame. Dr. Kachmann is the author of Twenty Prescriptions for Living the Good Life and Welcome to Your Mind Body, written with co-author Kim Kachmann-Geltz.
Dr. Kachmann's generous philanthropic endeavors also included support of the Unity Youth Choir and countless free medical procedures for families in need. Dr. Kachmann is also a supporter of PBS39 and the Dr. Rudy & Rhonda Kachmann Teleplex. Dr. Kachmann is the recipient of the Martin Luther King award and meets with young people regularly to discuss the rewards of a healthy lifestyle. Along with providing funding to individuals needing assistance for continuing education, Dr. Kachmann is the primary supporter for Lutheran Hospital's Kachmann Auditorium.
Years of experience in medicine have shown Dr. Rudy Kachmann convincing evidence of the many health benefits of nurturing the connection between the mind, body, and spirit. Dr. Rudy Kachmann teaches the benefits of the arts, yoga, meditation, and that maintaining a positive attitude are keys to overall well being and health. Dr. Rudy Kachmann is passionate in teaching how to eliminate unnecessary medical procedures, reducing the use of medications, and reducing healthcare and insurance costs.
