Lindsey Britt
From a young age Lindsey has been a focused pursuer of source energy via movement. With a childhood full of dance classes and sports she found yoga in 1998 at the age of 19. She quickly felt a sense of deep belonging that surpassed any previous experience. Within the year she immured herself in a Sivananda Yoga Teachers Training in New York. The fire was further stoked by teacher training's with Manju Jois in Ashtanga, with J&J in AcroYoga, and with Paul Grilley in Yin Yoga. After taking a Thai Yoga Therapy workshop in 2005 she fell in love with Thai Bodywork. Since then she has attended two training's with Chuck Duff in Chicago, apprenticed with Jill Harman for one year, and spent a month in Thailand twelve of those days at the Sunshine Thai Massage School. Her degree in Sociology (coupled with a minor in Dance), and subsequent four years of social work have taught Lindsey that community is essential. Lindsey believes that even more essential then community is self acceptance and yoga in any form is a journey toward that light that connect us all.
“A friend once asked me to think about the person I was, and then think about the person I want to be, and do everything I can to close the gap. Movement -- Dance, Yoga, Thai Bodywork, AcroYoga, Contact Improv, Aikido, Ballet, even the electric slide -- is my vehicle for that change.”
