Donna Pond
RRT, CETT
Group Fitness Instructor
Donna grew up on a farm in rural Indiana where her mother promoted a balanced healthy lifestyle of healthful nutrition, physical exercise, and spiritual growth. She knew from the age of 12 that she wanted to pursue a health related career. State universities did not yet offer exercise science degrees, so she chose nursing, and later transferred majors, graduating with Degree in Respiratory Science. While practicing as a Registered Respiratory Therapist, she continued her personal commitment to wellness and fitness, becoming a competitive runner and marathoner as well as being a national trainer and instructor for Jacki Sorensen’s Aerobic Dancing. Donna decided she wanted to share her passion for fitness with others and studied with the American College of Sports Medicine, attaining Preventative and Rehabilitative Exercise Technologist certification. She became a certified STEP instructor, trained by the originator, Gin Miller. Donna has inspired many people to experience the joy of achieving and maintaining wellness with experience in exercise testing and prescription, cardiovascular risk counseling, asthma education, tobacco cessation, group exercise and personal training.
Donna continues her work as a licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner, and is excited to join the Kachmann Mind Body Institute team to help as many people as possible reap the benefits of enhanced health and wellness. She is a certified Zumba Fitness instructor, and invites everyone to join the exercise party with this high energy, fun group exercise program. Donna is also preparing to take the National Federation of Professional Trainers certification exam. Donna and her husband, Mike, live in the Leo-Cedarville area and are the parents of five daughters, aged 31, 26, 16, and two 8 year olds.
Donna hopes to inspire others, and be inspired by others on their journey to optimal health. She firmly believes that we all were created extraordinarily, and if we treat ourselves with the respect we deserve, and are honest with ourselves, we are capable of greatness in mind, body and spirit. Look to your past to appreciate the wisdom you’ve gained, assess the present to stay on track, and reach for the future by setting achievable goals and keeping hope alive. We are all a great big possibility!
